Virtualization and clustering of IT resources has become the key enabler for the concept of sharing resources thereby using IT infrastructure more efficiently. Besides offering high-capacity optical transport over metro and regional distances up to 40Gbit/s per optical channel, special protocols like Fibre Channel, InfiniBand or IBM GDPS® are supported.
